Hotel workshop part ???
« on: May 30, 2014, 11:39:25 PM »
I just want to say thanks to all the great people I have met in my travels, always searching for another CL gang to fly with  - oops - as Cheech so aptly put it " We're not a gang- we're a club man!

Anyway - thanks to the NW Fireballs, the entire NW Control Line community, the w behind the scenes people like Barb Entwhistle, Alice, countless other dedicated Aerofiends, movers and shakers, grillers and bakers, you are truly some of the good people on this planet today.
You have made me feel at home, supported my efforts, and provided friendship and kindness to this humble modern day " Traveling Tinker ", as I shuffle about the land installing machines that hopefully will somehow improve our life, or at least prolong our economy.
There are many others to thank, the NMCCA in Albuquerque, Team VooDoo in Phoenix, Roger V and the guys on the Space Coast, The NVCL guys by Manassas VA, and all the others I've met at contests, fun-flys, club meetings and coffee sessions.

You can all give yourselves a pat on the back and a handshake from me- you have added so much to my enjoyment of these toy airplanes I have loved for 50 years.

Here's a pic of tonight's entertainment in the hotel- Gota re drill ad beef up the mounts on this Cutlass I left Dalta park with a few weeks ago, brought ad OS 35S to put initial, but as usual I need to change the mount holes...

One of the things the AMA used to do was have a listing of clubs across this great land.  Also PAMPA had the membership book.  I would take planes, kit and supplies to the various places the phone company would send me for training or work.   All I had to do was look and get a phone number.  But, really we are one big family of control line modeling.

When I went to Milwaukee for HD training I met up with Harley man and he let me fly is plane. I thought those guys were going to CR@P their pants. One guy said to the other do they always fly that low? LOL those were high bottoms.

Thanks to that crew! Same thing when I went to Ohio. Mind you I never met those guys before and they gave me their toys to play with.

Those engine mount drill guides are light cardstock and used to be included with the OS FP series of engines. Don't know if they still do this. However, Eric Rule at RSM sells similar lazar cut drill guides cut from lite-ply for most of the popular IC stunt engines. Price is very reasonable and they work well.  8)
