Title: Scary Landing
Post by: Sean McEntee on March 06, 2016, 03:03:00 PM
I'm back out at Ft Irwin, this time to do some flying where weather is a bit better this time of year than in central Texas.

The base leg of the approach is unnervingly close to one of the mountains, and of course I was the guinney pig. I was 95ft AGL at one point.  A buddy of mine took a video.  Hope you enjoy it as much as I did  LL~

Looks like a good landing to me.   You didn't hit any thing and I didn't see it bounce. H^^

I scored it a 38.  (Might've been a 40, but it was too dark to tell.)

    That's MY boy there!!!! y1 y1

Hey Uncle Mikey! I still can't get over how prophetic that painting you presented to Sean was! I think about that a lot and really appreciate the gesture, as I know Sean does.
   Type at you later,
   Dan McEntee

Just a little slope soaring, and you had power....
Next thing you know I'll see you at an f3f contest...

Chris

Thanx, Dan.  It wasn't one of my best works, but I hope it conveyed the feelings that most of us have.

Can you paint me a portrait of next weeks lottery numbers? ;D

As soon as I got my own office, that painting was the first thing that I moved in...yep, even before the coffee maker H^^

Edit:  And it does get ALOT of comments!

Aw heck Sean, it's no sweat if it gets splatted all over the side of a mountain, it's not like you just spent all winter building the thing! :##

Yeah right...there are people in DC watching our progress very closely.  This trip cost $12 million of your tax dollars--mostly for the SATCOM airtime--which is a lot of money for a company-level training exercise so there are a lot of eyes on us out here.

The thought just hit me,  look what this young lad has accomplished since we learned he was going into the military.   Bet papa Dan is popping buttons. H^^

Don't see a  motocon that salutes, so just a tip of the hat.
