I was contacted via email through Stunt Hanger via an email that looked like this.

Hey, Are you still looking? In case you haven't found anything yet, give Jeff a jingle.  He might be able to help. E-mail Jeff on jeffposseltt@outlook.com

I sent Jeff an email and he responded very earlier morning with this.

Hi,

Yes i have a K77 Stunt Engine for sale. View attached file. Asking $200 shipped. I will be shipping via USPS or FedEx STANDARD/GROUND shipping to the 48 contiguous states, I do not ship to P.O. Boxes. Regular shipments will take between 3-5 business days and I will have a tracking number available for you after shipping. Payment via Apple Gift Card via PayPal https://www.paypal.com/us/gifts/brands/apple. Whats your shipping address?

I'm telling ya AI for these scammers has really helped their sentence structure and making up of names.  Be careful.  If it feels like a scam it probably is.

Still, that's a good price. What finally happened?

Are you kidding?  Hopefully NOTHING happened.

As far as scams go, this type is fairly old news.  If you want some idea of what the e-crooks are up to, there's a fairly good repository of the latest and greatest tricks at the RCG forum.

This guy is a known scammer.  He got me using the same method.

I had a bad feeling ...the gift card was just not right.

I filed a wire fraud complaint against him with the feds.  They admit that there is not much chance of finding him.

I always ask for something that makes it likely that he has the actual item if I am not dealing with someone I know.  Pix from an odd angle, etc.  Odds are they won't respond back.  My favorite is to ask if it has some feature that doesn't exist but only a modeler would know that.  If you think it is a possible scam, have it sent COD to your post office.

Have to run, just found out that I have a Nigerian great uncle that left me $5,000,000!

Nothing happened.  I recognized the photo from Stunthanger.  When I asked for a photo with todays date never heard back.

What got me is how I received the first email saying it was a referral and sent from markusvet@juno.com sparkyfl@charter.com via stunthangar.com.

I can't believe he tried to get me involved, but sparkyfl@charter.com is NOT my email address. It's close, but no cigar.
