Title: Saturday at Huntersville Scores & Pictures
Post by: EddyR on May 04, 2013, 02:46:32 PM
Very windy and it rained on me for my first flight. And it was about 55 at 9AM but it felt a lot colder.
Combat and Carrier had good turn out. Many people did not want to take there plane out of the cat. I did not see any crashes in the stunt circles.

Something looks fishy on the 2nd and 3rd places on basic flight.

Ugh! I hate it when that happens! Sorry Eddy, and my condolences to the club. Unfortunatly, sometimes, weather happens.

It was mostly junk weather here from beggining of fall right up until our November contest in 2012, then it was stunt heaven that weekend of the contest. It immediately went back to junk and stayed that way right up to the KOI in Jacksonville, where it let up (mostly) for the contest, and we got in all the flights. Then it went right back to crap and has stayed that way with only an odd flyable weekend here and there. I've never seen a period of junk flying weather in the southeast like this before, and hope I never do again...  Heck, it hasn't even hit 90degrees yet I don't think. I think I might have flown a dozen patterns this year, and most  of those were at the KOI.  :'(
Where's that darn global warming when you need it??!!

Bob
Sunday, Expert was Will 430.He was first to fly Charley Reeves got 260. John did a reverse wing over and got ? ~^ That was Expert. There were 15 Expert flyers there Saturday and a total of  4 flew in old time and N-30. In Advanced there was a calmer period for one flyer and he flew a second flight and wend down 40+ points when he had air like the other flyers. Brian flew well in the wind both days and Alen gave up after the inverted flight. High score on Sunday 430 ,Will Davis did a good job. Charley Reeves flight look good till his hat blew off and he tried to grab it and he flew into the ground. He  shortened his prop a bit but no other damage.

It has been that kind of year in this part of the country too.   Finally Monday evening while working on the tree I noticed that there was very little breeze and I was working in my shirt sleeves.   Even the dogs like the weather.  Hope to get some flights in before the TOPClass Annual contest on Memorial Day weekend.
