GREAT FLYING WEATHER. MORE ON SUNDAY NIGHT. BLESSINGS
ALLEN
Maybe we Brits are not paying enough attention to 'im upstairs! Year on year our Nats is a case of great weather right up to the day before, three days of wind and rain, then great weather again once it's over. This year I thought we'd cracked it. Lousy weather for a week beforehand, and I fondly thought "Great, this will blow itself out by the w/e leaving us with a few days good weather". WRONG. Yesterday we had 15-18mph winds, gusting to 28, with heavy rain showers. Nevertheless I CD'd Classic and Vintage, and Shaheen tabulated everything including F2B. We then returned home last night.
I read today it was 40mph with gusts to 60. All C/L flying cancelled for the day.
I guess the traders and swapmeeters must have had a good day!
Hey ho! Here's hoping for next year.
I'll have to attend an FCM meet one day!

;D Just wanted to thank all of the FCM for a fine weekend of flying. I have not been in attendance in a few years and it was just wonderful start to finish.
This afternoon it got a bit warm and yours truly was bushed. Z@@ZZZ...Congrats to all the winners and my pals. I high tailed it home immediately after the presentations and didnt pump arms and pass out hugs before leaving.
H^^ Thanks Again!

Hi Randy.
I now read that by Sun. evening the camp site is half empty, (all gone home), loads of tents destroyed. And this with one day still to go!!

Love the group shot with the two old timers acting as bookends. LL~ LL~ LL~ Your weather must have been better than Topeka KS. The smartones stayed home. Maybe I will make FCM meet one of these years.

I can add some pix from Saturday.
As long as I'm able I'll be there next time too. It's my favorite contest.

Further to my posts above - Well, here we are, first day after our Nats. Bless my soul, - all England is encompassed by one huge isobar, high pressure. Looks like someone drew a line all around the country on the weather map! Temp. around 70deg., winds 1-7mph.
Hey, that's perfect Nats weather.
I'm seriously considering giving up stunt at our Nats and flying a little speed, although even that was grounded on Sun.
