I built one and did a build log in the electric section

https://stunthanger.com/smf/gettin-all-amp'ed-up!/starting-to-build-a-59-ares-brodak-kit/

My only advice is be careful of the ribs.  I managed to break more than one.  The other thing that I was made aware of is that you must use silkspan on the wings.  The wings are flexible and require a rigid covering.  MonoKoat covering is flexible and is not recommended,  Also it takes a large flat building board.  The post above details how I solved the problem  Good luck.  I am told it's a great flying airplane.

Dwayne  build the fuselage first and shape the blocks for Turtledecks
 before the wing is built

However Turtledecks get glued in place after the controls are setup and working.  Shouldn't need telling but only cut off the trailing edge end of the ribs to make them fit.  Also if you cut one too short just move it toward the wing tip.   y1

Engine crutch done, but have a problem with the fuse sides, one is nice and weighs 15 grams but one is hard as rock and weighs 32 grams, so I have to contact Brodak and see if they'll ship me another one, I know it may seem petty but these kits are expensive now.

Lifted from a very old post:

Beamers are easy to love but they're harder to hold
When they catch light they sparkle like stars untold.
Sanding that silkspan through 30 paint layers
Sure makes a stunt flyer frown
Remove your belt buckles,  watches and rings,
hope that your pants don't fall down!

Mama, don't let your babies grow up to build I-beams
Don't let them cut strip ribs on top of your hutch
Make them build D-tubes or foamies & such!
Mama, don't let your babies grow up to build I-beams
They're off in the zone while they fit those ribs home
Even with someone they love!

All seriousness aside, I-Beams are a blast to build!  Make sure you follow the advice about building the fuselage and other subassemblies first. Strive to make installing the ribs almost the last thing you do.

Just trace a new fuse side using the kit part as a pattern. Time is money, and think of the cost of shipping just one fuselage side? That is part of the gamble when building from kits.
  Type at you later,

Hi Dan, in the past I've done this but the cost of the kit with Canadian conversion is $259.00 plus tax, at that price I want it perfect, that's not a knock on Brodak in any way, a call to Jan and all I had to do was send her a email of the invoice and a new fuse was sent out today, I didn't have to pay shipping Brodak is a awesome company.
