Those long ones made from extruded aluminum.
2 x 18 inches and 2 x 24 inches.
Anyone know who sells them?

Used to be Great Planes. Don't think they are available since Tower Hobbies went belly up and was sold off to Horizon. Check out the prices they are bringing on eVilbay!!
Go to a scrap yard or metal provider and you can find T-shaped aluminum stock pretty reasonable. Good hardware stores will have a selection of it also. Buy 6 foot stick and cut yourself several different lengths.

Those Great Planes sanding extrusions were not always straight. I have seen some of the longer ones that were bowed slightly. That was enough to eliminate it from consideration.
As Dan said, a metal provider might have something you can use. I am lucky in that near me is a metal warehouse that is willing to sell small pieces of scrap to guys like me. I was able to get 2 inch aluminum channel, 1/8 inch wall thickness, to use as a sanding block. They would even cut it to the length I asked for.

Brett - I found the exact same thing just after I posted.
I will probably buy a 2 foot length and cut it down.

Sean gave me some Perma-Grit sanding tools for Christmas a few years ago, and one of the tools was a nice extruded tube with contoured sides and two different grades of grit, one each on top and bottom. They ain't cheap but will last forever if you don't lose them or loan them out and they don't come back!!
While you are looking at the T-stock, look at some angle stock to put some sand paper on the inside leg for edge sanding sheet balsa to glue up wing skins and such. That's a Bob Hunt trick I learned.

Mr. Robert,
I'd like to know the Amazon item you bought. Unfortunately, you copied the address for your order...not the specific item.
I saw a 12 ft Tee stick...and noted that one of the reviewers mentioned the piece had to be cut to be shipped, and it was cut to length specified by the reviewer/purchaser. If that is the case, then I could stand to buy a chunk, and have it cut to four three foot long pieces.

What type of sand paper does one use to mount on a T bar. What do you use as an adhesive to mount the same?

Spray adhesives (do they still make "Formula 77"?) Basically a rubber cement-like contact cement. If the metal is clean, as by a wipe of acetone, these work well. And, when the sandpaper is worn out, heating - e.g., $Kote gun - softens it to allow stripping the paper off.
Naphtha - "Ronsonol" type lighter fluid if you can't find a better source - cleans the glue residue off. Messy, but it works.
I've made several sanding blocks of common 1 by 2 wood. I cut them short, the length of a standard sheet of sandpaper. As long as the wood is flat, straight and smooth it works for me. Longer blocks require longer sandpaper. A Sharpy marking on a cut end records the grit on that block.
I'd be leery of the edge butt joints of shorter lengths glued up..

Square (or rather, rectangular) aluminium alloy tubing works beautifully. I have some approx. 2" x 1" - dead straight and flat, and frankly I find it easier to hold than T-section. Maybe that's just my aged paws, of course...

till theres holes in things. to rapair .
And buying reams of 3M 320 wt. paper.
When you just used to throw on a few coats of dope, think it looked pretty good, and go flying .
It must be ' the Great Sandpaper Diety ' , how many others have found they now suffer these effects . ;D S?P :## H^^

I prefer the flat sided 'T' bars to the rounded grip style. I can sand long edges square by gluing sandpaper to the vertical leg, placing the piece on the ninety degree leg and working it against the sandpaper.
