Title: Samuels Next Build Finished
Post by: mike londke on April 14, 2015, 03:34:31 PM
Starting a Jr. Ringmaster with Samuel.  I hoping he will learn a little more on this one now that he is older.

He looks super excited! Hahaha, that is awesome! #^
I hope the building goes well for you both, we both know he'll probably be out flying you soon.
If you can teach him to build as well as you do, then you can relax and get him to build them for you, LOL!

Love that transparent red plane you built.

Regards,
Chris

That's Great!

Wood in those old kits can be heavy! If you can, use the wood from the kit for templates and cut new parts out of contest balsa.

Keep it light and it will fly great!!

Had a very busy summer and got sidetracked on this build but we got on it this weekend. Here's a few pics of Samuel helping out.  He is very intent on learning how to build so I let him do as much as he can. We talk a lot about the order of building and how things fit together. Im sure some of it is sinking in.

Hi Mike
That's good, the kit has real spars located in the proper place. That's instead of the rib ripper that came in the old Sterling kits. The old one would splinter all the ribs on impact. I left it out of my Sterling Yak, and the wing is plenty stiff without the rib ripper. Most here will disagree.
I look forward to seeing you and meeting Sam in a few weeks.

Ready for maiden flights. Sam is thrilled. Weather may not cooperate this weekend. Thanks to CFCS graphics for the cool decals.

He turned out a good looking plane, a good size for him to handle and learn with.

Yeah, the weather is hampering Ringmaster Flyathon plans all over the Southeast. The Carolina Gang has one on the calendar for Sunday, but a foot of rain is forecast. Hope y'all get a break and get out to maiden it.

Sam looks great with the new plane.  Hope the plane flies as well as it looks.  According to internet you guys in the southeast is getting hit hard with flooding.  Hope all our Ringmaster Bros fair well.  Couldn't ask for better weather here in eastern Kansas. I drove up today to fly with the TOPClass guys.   Family had me tied up Saturday.
