Samuel's Take Off
« on: July 12, 2015, 05:17:57 PM »
So proud today. 3 flights on the Skyray and 7 flights on the Twister. A few bumpy landings and some broken props but Sam is on his way. Thanks again for the planes Ray Copeland. Mike

That is great.   A few more flights and then maybe talk him into lowering his arm and relaxing.   By the way I thought were going to the NATS?

Yeah, I remember that level with Sean at that age. That's a pretty big model for his little hand to hold on to! The extra weight making the extra pull can be a lot to a little guy. The Skyray may be the best fit for him for a big airplane for a while. Nothing wrong with using two hands also, if it gives him some extra confidence. Otherwise he's looking really good! Best thing I can tel you both is to cherish an enjoy the journey you are on. Life times of memories are ahead!

Thanks Dan. I thought the Twister might be too much plane also but after he flew it once I could not talk him out of flying it. He kept telling me I can handle it dad, I won't let go. He wants so badly to fly a "big boy plane" I just couldn't tell him no. I am having the time of my life with him doing this. There were 5 of us today plus Sam, we each put up 3 or 4 flights and Sam put up 10. Me and the other guys really got a kick out of just watching Sam's take offs and landings. Much was learned today. I'm hopeful we can make Paducah for Sam to fly Basic Flight in August.

Safety thong?  I saw that picture of him you posted recently, it made me think of backpacks full of bricks.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.
