I found out we will not have the Memphis Stunt Classic this year due declining attendance from last year.

Bummer.  :'(

Paul,

That is very sad.  I received an email from John Gunn stating that this year's Texarkana Contest (this weekend) will be the last one.

I hate it too but out of my hands.

Maybe we should start a petition to make it happen.

Instead of a petition, I would suggest a promise to attend and an offer to assist might be more effective.

I have offered to assist ever year. Last year I got to cut all the circles. Steak out the pits. Bought the paint to mark the center of each circle and assisted with setting up the food. Then after the days events went to our club community event and flew demo flights till dark:30.
I was beat that weekend last year.

This year the city of Millington want us to have the contest in the baseball stadium during a local festival. Was sure to draw a crowd.

Hmm, the "MSC" in the title here got my attention. Sorry to hear about another contest not happening this year.

The Montezuma Stunt Contest is not happening either. :(

Is it the low attendance,  the cost of trophies or CD's not wanting to do it again?   TOPClass has managed to keep going with low entries, not enough to give all the awards away.   The cost of trophies was taken care of partially by sponsors of trophies.   And the raffles they have each year.   The late summer is the lowest count of entries.   How else could I win first place award.

Myself, I am to blame in racing events as my favorite pilot/pilots don't have time or have other interests.  And I think I am letting old age catch up with me. H^^
