Both planes landed safely. We've been learning some tricks. Lazy eights flown under a hovering slob, loops around one slob. The learning and polishing of these tricks is slow going since we typically are contest flyers. We've done some Slob-bat and midair catches. Loads of fun!!

I think it's important to mention how dangerous it is to attempt to pluck a model out of thin air!! And that it shouldn't even be attempted. It's a good way to lose fingers or be force fed a model airplane.

that was the gist of my mislaid message...wouldn't take much of a miscue to find yourself holding a prop instead of a plane. 

I used to step out in front of Rat Racers to catch them as they came in at a blur, but at least the engines weren't running. And I still have a scar inflicted by another guy's wing as he was landing on top of my Rat. 

Even with a hovering airplane, things can happen in a split second.  I wouldn't attempt it. But then that's just me. But I don't want to read about a mangled hand, either.

Makes me nervous just thinking about the concept. And yeah, I've seen the video of the RC guy plucking a hovering 3D plane out of the air. With apologies beforehand, and no disrespect intended,  IMHO that makes him an idiot.

I thought that was where you were going with that. And I totally agree. It makes for a neat trick but it is very dangerous.
