Gentlemen,
The original Ryan YPT-16 hangs in the USAF Museum in Dayton, OH. It is difficult to see in the rafters. It is impossible to get a photo of the top side of the aircraft.
This is my version of the Charles Parrott Ryan ST design.
There are two primary changes with the basic design:
1) Wing Span was changed to 50.0 from 54.2 inches.
2) Elevator Hinge to Tail Hinge was increased to 14.3 from 13.0 inches.
Basic model info:
1) Engine: OS Max 46
2) Wing Area 630.4 sq in.
3) Finished weight 50.8 ounces
Would like to thank Mark Gerber of Fort Collins, CO. for recommending the increase in Fuselage length.
A primary goal of this Ryan was to keep the weight down.
Below are the subassembly weights of the aircraft:
Engine/Muffler 11.4 ounces
Prop/Spinner 1.6
Fuel System 2.3
Sheeted Wing 10.3
Control System 2.3
Landing Gear System 2.0
Wheel Pants 0.8
Fuselage 9.4
Engine Cowl 0.5
Tail Wheel Assembly 0.4
Vertical Stabilizer 0.4
Horizontal Stabilizer/Elevator 1.7
Covering 1.8
Paint 4.0
Wing Tip Weight 1.2
CG Weight 0.0
Total Aircraft Weight 50.8 ounces
