Is that a Mark III on the nose? That will surely make it move. Ken

If you can't keep up with a CG Shoestring, better leave the combat wing on the hook.  Of course it is easier doing consecative loops and eights instead of level flight.  Now the little sporty car you have the plane propped up on.  How fast is it in level flight?  And the looks of it I imagine you do more than turn left.   H^^

HEY RICHARD  Where the heck you been?  All is well I hope y1

Hey Doc
Not quite as fast as a good Rat but close. The brakes and the cornering is mind boggling. A brush of foot on the brakes and 100mph disappears instantly.

MkIII, stock,Kenneth.

Wes, Yeahhhh!

Rust removing session was a Blast. y1
Son is good crew!
1st flight was good then a heavy 10min rain.

Wife, Daughter, Daughter in law showed up.
2nd 3rd 4th flight with comments like Holey S and other un type-able comments from the by standers.

5th flight Son timed for 7 laps while for some reason airplane started hunting horrible and revs seemed down.
2 laps after 7 strange noises, tremendous vibration, engine stopped. Picture explains, I forgot to check bolts HB~> HB~> good thing prop cut the fuel line.

CtoC 61.5ftx.018s( must be a set for mid 80s quickie rat?) from Ron Jacobs?. Ron where are you?
Airplane is Super Cat ( modified Combat Cat)
Fox Super Fuel
9x6 RevUp
7Laps 16.1sec
111.76MPH( 60ft chart)

I think several layers of rust are gone now. #^ #^ #^ #^ #^ #^ #^
Bet those stunt plane fly slower now!

That was so much fun  another dose of rust removal has been prescribe for tomorrow.

Glad to hear you had a good session.   The thought just hit me when I was getting a group going in the 70's, we would fly 1/2A combat planes on 25 foot lines.  Makes the fast ships seem slow.  Now you will probably fall asleep flying the Shoestring. LL~ LL~

Keith Sandberg used to claim, "I once tried to fly a combat model.  The helper released the model.  It hit somewhere behind me."

Never turn your back on a combat plane! Closing your eyes or looking somewhere else is ok but turn your back and no tellin what they will do! LL~ n~

Have been trying to upload video that daughter made to you tube.
So far vid but no sound.

Today was first day in 7 or8 with zero wet stuff. #^

Youtube can do the Video  but not sound.

Vimeo can do good sound but the Video not so good.

Play both at the same time?

Was hoping the Video host would have magically fixed the problems during the time the vids have been up. HB~>

Anyone know of a free Video host that can handle the Vid and sound?

Hi John
Man that's so cool watching your daughter learning to fly. #^

Love that Blue/Yellow Ringmaster and the McCoy sounds great. Brings back memories.

Looks like you fly on side of a hill also. Interesting to say the least. We have about 18 inches elevation change on the circle, Hope to fill the low end this Fall.
Just gota ask what the Surveyor pole is for.  Practicing for speed?

John, see if the following means anything to you and if you see something that would be stopping the sound from uploading to YouTube. Its all Geek to me.

According to You tube this is the 'Spec' of the Video I tried to upload.

Formal Movie
Video codec MPEG4

Dimension 320x240 pxile

Audio codec OCELP.

Will try another to the tube tonight but expect same.

Thanks
David

I'm a geek too when it comes to cameras.....the one we used was a toy we bought at walmart for Iris, 2 years ago. Just got lucky I reckon. Yep, hillside....my little 50 acre piece of heaven parked on the ridge in Arkansas.  A lot of work, but that was 65' lines and I'm shootin for 90'. Yes we fly a few fast planes, and my 61 year old vessel has been around at least twice. Having chemo in the right eye every 6 weeks, and the dizzy pills don't work with flying C/L.....can't stop now though. Maybe I'll get out a couple of my combat planes this WE.......yours looks like a dandy fo-sho! H^^

Hey John
Get them Combat planes out! #^
Remember you don't have to turn and you can lay down to fly. no dizzy!

So here we go again with the vids. Many uploads later and no improvement.
Found having 2 tabs or windows open, one for each host/vid that I can start the load (click button)on the Vimeo vid and the immediately switch to the youtube vid and hit play the sound is almost dead on with the vid!
What a heck of a way to have to watch something with all the tech available. :X
Best I can do. ''

Flight number 2 and even richer than first flight.HB~>
