Russian (?) and model at the VSC

I am enclosing seven shots of a modeler and his stunt model.  I believe he is from the former USSR, but no clue as to which country he is from. I have lost his name.  Perhaps someone could help me with information on the modeler and his plane?

I *think* he is Eugene Petrov.  

It is the plane he is identified to on the Yatsenko website drawing.  A tricycle gear just like the one pictured here.  The second drawing under the writings about the developement of the Yatsenko Classic which is linked to in "PerttiMe"'s post and before the one Wynn shows.

I had to right click "View Image" then do a "Print Preview" to get it big enough to "see" it.

Few points:

1) The style of the model is what is commonly referred to as "Acrobat" or "Акробат". It was(and is) as ubiquitous in USSR as Nobler is in the US of A. The style dates back to late 60's.
2) The model is from Odessa area. Take a look at the picture of the rudder. "Одесса" is written under the logo.
3) Neither Kramskih nor Yatsenko's are from Odessa.



I think the challenge of certifying Akrobats as Classic legal is the fact that very little information was ever published from behind the Iron Curtain.

The lettering on the wing "ИГ" indicates that builder's last name starts with "Ig". I can't think of any common Russian last name that starts with Ig. Actually just one: Ignatyenko(Игнатенко).

You may already have this, but the airplane above is on the back inside cover of Stunt News, May-June 2007.  It is listed as belonging to Igor Panchenko, and the photo credit is by Tom McClain.

HI Steven, thanks for that.  it helps to be able to read Russian! LOL!!  At least Milton knew who he is.  I was thinking it was Petrovic. My reference was to the drawing of his plane on Yatsenko's site, not the Yatsenkos themselves.

Hi plane was a carbon copy it seems.  Like you said, a common design.

 I was hoping some pics of this plane would pop up here. I thought the owner was the guy with the beard in the plaid shirt shown in the last picture above. I saw this airplane and the owner on my first and only trip to VSC in 2007. The model showed some serious mileage, but I thought it was a really neat design with a definite "Russki" look to it. A look at a scoreboard from VSC 2007 might provide an obvious name of the owner.

This is very interesting. Of course I was immediately drawn to the Sept. 1986 issue.
But in spite of Anatoli Kolesnikov on the cover, I didn't find him nor the model in the attached files.
What have I missed? Where are descriptions and plans of his models?
I can read and understand English, German & French and decipher Italian, Spanish, Swedish & Danish, but alas, Russian is not in my vocabulary...

If you have the 1976-77 AEROMODELLER annual, there is a very good 3 view of this very model, with Imperial measurements. Designed by E. Netsov, that's what it says! (could be Petrov?) of the USSR. From Wings of the Fatherland!
