Run Away Boost/Break

Mike Scott asked me to put this out to our electric crowd.  It is an Igor Active timer on a Spin 66 std. ESC.  What causes this crazy boost/brake? It does it everywhere except in level flight.

I think the tilted sensor may have legs.  The other settings have been working for most of the season and they match another flyer who is not having problems.  I run the Fiorotti timer, and it will do strange things if the sensor is not level.

Mike replaced the timer and the problem went away.  I guess it got old.

Probably never know the cause.

It was the accelerometer and timer.

The Acc. has over 600 flights with no Problems. Then all of sudden it would start singing. I thought i
maybe it was running to hot. Just a thought. 5 flights later  it would do it again. Everything on it is the same
as it has always been. Sometimes you speed up sometimes you go down, depending on wind conditions. The Boost
is always around 2, Yesterday was almost dead calm so i bumped the boost up to 2.8.  Still did it about every 3 or 4 flights.
Nothing was loose no where. the Acc was flat , with no movement. I let it cool off for about 15 minutes, air temp was only
around 75.  It did it again after 2 more flights.
   Today , just a little cooler, but with new ACC, absolutely no problems except to reset the numbers for speed and boost.
same air temp. Now its all working with the same settings as before. Did i ware out the ACC?

Is this an I or a F controller?
I ask because you moved the boost to 2.8.  That doesn't sound like an I controller.

I have two (I) that are now 10 years old each. Never had a problem. My Nat's issue was a Deans plug failure, not the ESC or controller.  Have never had the anomalie that you experienced.

If that is the case, yes it could be an I controller.

It was the Accelorameter. I put a new one on, reprogrammed the speed and it work great ever since.

Electronics like that don't wear out so much as break.  There are a lot of failure mechanisms, all of which are individually unlikely, but when add up all the different possible ways that things can break then every once in a while you're going to draw the unlucky un-winning numbers.
