As everyone knows Larry is the 7 times winner of the Golden Balls California Championships Monocote finishing awards and he has kindly volunteered to run his "How to Monocote Rite" workshops once again over the next 8 weeks.
If you haven't already grabbed your chance to learn from this master of the craft of covering in iron on film there are only a few places left - so this is the last call for attendees. I understand that enrollment fees are being held down to the same price as last year. Beer is allowed in class but no hard liquor (excepting the faculty). Please do not bring your JCT paraphernalia or Calendars as the College received complaints from some female attendees last year.

I can highly recommend this clinic. Larry's ARF PT-19 looks great!

No paraphernalia, no JCT.

Wow sounds like a great time sure wish there was something like this a little closer to home have seen some u-tube videos but live hands on would really be great.

It would be great if you could set a webcast for those that can't make the drive. Or at least a utube video. y1

I second Paul's request for a video of the lessons. I use monocoat because my wife has allergies to dopes and paints. I have seen some of Larry's stuff posted and can't believe its monocoat. That cat is talented! Please, someone video for the rest of us that can't go. H^^

We seem to be jumping the gun by a couple of months. Isn't the class scheduled for early April?
-
For those of us within striking distance, how DOES one RSVP for the Golden Balls Series? Any date(s) and locations announced yet?
-
What the hell?????
Who the hell is "Bobs your Uncle"?
And how did I get roped into a Mono-Cote Clinic?
I'm thinking that this is some conspiracy, started by Dave in retaliation for him being banned from the"'Fox .15 Hurl"
I wont sleep till I get to the bottom of this.
Then again, this is just the kind of stunt Antone Kephart would pull.

I think this is closer to home than Antone...

Come on now Larry F., don't you want to be a star on a CD/disc on how to do Monokote correctly? We could all learn from this and might make a penny or two for your efforts.
-
Wow, This is really exciting news! The promise of pearls from the land of Buttafuco!
I remember back in 1975 David Fitz' late dad Bill brought a Monocoted Nobler to the Nats that had all the top appearance point getters asking what paint he used to get such a fabulous finish. He had a hard time convincing some of them that it was really Monocote and not some magic new kind of paint. Some remain non-believers to this day.
Now, Bill was a great builder and finisher of stunt ships but would agree that Larry's work is at a level few if any have ever achieved. If and when this event takes place it should, indeed, be videoed and his wisdom shared with the stunt masses...for a reasonable fee, of course; after all, genius is deserving of its reward--and Larry has earned all the rewards he is certain to receive.
In anxious anticipation,
Ted Fancher

Sucked all the way under including the tackle box.

Sucked all the way under including the tackle box. Larry's finishes are paint and about as close to perfect as I have ever seen.
Spoil sport. ::) ::) ::) ::)

HA HA!! You's guy's is funny! We all know Larry is a wizard with rattle cans!

Oops. Sorry Ted. I wasn't thinking.

Oh, heck, Bill. It's all for the best. Another couple of days and guys would have been making airline and hotel reservations. Although, I suppose they could have been reimbursed via a class action lawsuit against Larry for failure to fulfill the contract.
What the heck. I'll save everybody the trouble.
Larry's secret (after sanding the ARF with 100 grit wet or dry) is an ultra fine Persian lamb's wool roller and an artfully calculated amount of bottled soda water to thin the latex semi-gloss housepaint to perfect rolling consistency. The soda's bubbles are the secret to uniform rolling (OTFLOL). #^ #^

That's the last time I divulge my secrets to you.
I still want to know who" Bobs your Uncle" is. His name and location does not show up on his profile.
He is definitely in the running for the "Smart A$$ of the Month" award.

I have known about the Persian lamb's wool roller (getting very hard to find these days) and soda bubble trick for years so am going to pass on the Monocoting workshop but am really looking forward to the "Ink-Line Seminar" that will be offered later in the year. As far as "Bob's Your Uncle"... LL~ LL~ LL~ 8)

I dug back through past posts and I found ot that "Bobs your Uncle" is no other than that smart-a$$ Elliot Scott.
Dont worry gentlemen, I'll fix him. Just ask Jeff Anderson what pay-backs are all about.

Does this mean I don't get a refund on my reservation check? And I bought 5 rolls of MonoKote to be ready for the class!!

Did you happen to buy any black Mono-Cote? I'm ready to start the finish process on a new Still Stuka Stunt.

As a matter fact I did. It's the Larry Fernandez Signature Model roll. The label has a picture of your Stuka.

That was a marketing ploy by Eric Rule.
As I understand, he has made millions from it.

You know, now that I think about it, I don't have any pictures of the Late Great Stuka (may she rest in pieces).

I can send to you a picture of the back half of your old Stuka that is glued to the wall in Warren Walker's workshop...

Hey Larry
Who's the homeless guy holding your Stuka?
-
Thanks for posting Bruce.
I sure do miss that plane. I liked it so much that I'm building another one. Its all together now, covered and ready to start preping for finish.
It will also be black, and you know how black will show every flaw. I wont be happy unless this new one is better than the last.
Thanks again Bruce

Another pic. Seller on e-bay is posting it in his ad for Stuka plans. Brings out the shine of the Monokote!
