Title: RSM Short kits through Stunt Supply (Survey)
Post by: Mike Griffin on May 18, 2011, 03:40:40 PM
Eric Rule and I have done some negotiating on short kits.  Short kits are something that RSM has not done a lot of in the past but there seems to be a growing demand by a certain segment of builders for a better selection of readily available laser cut short kits.

Here are the parts that will be included in the short kit that will be cut by RSM and sold through Stunt Supply.

Ribs
Plywood bulkheads
Doublers
fuselage formers
fuselage sides
full size plans

Here are the designs that will be available in short kit form.  Other designs will be considered depending upon demand.

Lew McFarland's - SHARK 35

Allen Brickhaus's - BUCCANEER MARK II (This plane is nostalgia 30 legal and I have built one....a great flying plane)

Jack Sheeks - HURRICANE

Addie Naccarato's - BIG JOB

I need feedback from all of you before we gear up for production runs on these short kits.  If there is a consensus among you all that there is another design you would like to have in a short kit, please give me the feedback.  Eric at RSM will be cutting these for me and they will be available only through Stunt Supply.

You asked for it, we are trying to deliver it.

Mike

RSM already lists a Trivial Pursuit short kit.

I think short kits would mainly make sense for shipping to expensive destinations: smaller boxes to ship.

If a design needs plastic parts, they should be included. Maybe even hardware but others may disagree on that.

HI Mike,

I think it is a viable plan.  "Short kits" are an item many of us like.

Including the parts for the "tail feathers" might be a consideration, also.

Every time I scan the heading of this thread I think that there is a "shortage of kits at Stunt Supply)  n~

I would be interested in the Buccaneer. Pretty straight forward design. I'm building a Shark 35 now. Glad I got the full kit...excellent wood and with its more complex shapes I appreciate lazar cutting of all the parts. 8)

I like short kits as they take up less space.   H^^
