Update on Imitation Kit test build
« on: December 15, 2017, 01:18:56 PM »
Happy Friday everyone,

Even though I pulled a bonehead stunt and messed up the build on the Imitation fuselage (I explained this in a previous post) everything fit well and the same for the stab, elevator and vertical fin parts.

When I started building the wing I discovered there was an error with the ribs matching up with the plan as far as chord length.  This is something that is easily corrected but i have to wait until Eric gets back from vacation on the 19th so I can discuss this with him and the correction can be made.  This is more of a time issue than anything.  All that will need to be done is a correction in the CAD file, a recut of the wing ribs and me to  build the wing to make sure everything fits.  The last thing in the world I want to do is send kits out with something that doesn't fit.  This is why we do test builds before a kit is ever released.

I appreciate your patience and if you have not ordered a kit yet, this gives you a little extra time to do so.  I will do my level best to keep you informed and certainly will put a notice out when we are ready to start shipping kits out.  My thanks to all of you who have prepaid and as soon as I know this wing correction has been made, your kits will ship immediately.

Just as a FYI for those of you who do not know this, Eric Rule at RSM Distribution does my CAD work and Laser cutting for me and most of you know his work is impeccable and well worth waiting for.

Thank you again for your patronage.

Mike
