Can we bid on these items "On line" or do we have to physically be there?

Thank you, Jerry

Yes I am a friend but also may be interested in trying to make a bid on an item or three! Unfortunately I'll be out of town that day and so with that interest I called the folks in PA. I was told to email a bid to them and on the sales day they would note my bid and as the sale flowed would keep it in the running until the item sold! At that time if my noted bid was more than the price reached at that moment I would be billed for my amounted price, which is to say the price where the auction stalled plus appropriate shipping, and billed for that total!

Of course my bid would have included not only my price but also my mailing address for shipping. I imagine if I would not pay up the next highest bidder would get the item...I am guessing!

Hope this sheds some light on this very interesting sale! Duane have been friends since 1967 when Sondra and I moved to Reading,PA. He and I were heavy into Goodyear Racing and Fast Combat back in the day.

I have a very large and busy auction house near me in Locus NC and have been to many auctions. If they auction off items one at a time it will be a very long day and most will leave before it is done. If they auction the items in Lots not many would bid as it would be to expensive for the average modeler. I have found that most auction after a few hours will sell it off in lots. I bought three Dodge police cars for $200 total as most people had gone home by late afternoon. They were beat up but I made a quick $2000 on the deal. #^

It says "NO INTERNET BIDDING FOR THIS AUCTION". How are you sending email bids? You're paying winning bid plus 18% with tax and fees.

No internet bidding means that there won't be a "live feed" to the net during the auction therefore you may place a bid IN ADVANCE of the sale but NOT during the sale!

Wow, what a huge collection!! Glad I won't be there, don't think my bank
account needs that kind of a dent in it!

Was he buying up estates? Is that the reason for a lot of the duplication?

I downloaded the list so I can show it to my wife when she complains  mw~ about all my stuff which, by the way, doesn't hold a candle to this collection!

I have found it to be most reassuring that there has been another person with much more stuff than I ever had! To be sure I'll miss not being able to call him up and inquire if he has one thing or another to help me out when in need! The two of us just liked old stuff and the way it ran after he had tinkered with it!

Did anyone go to this? I made a list to bid on but looking it over it was just a bunch of stuff I mostly already had. Just want to know what kind of bargains I missed out on.
