Anyone know what happened to this dynamic duo?
I knew them thirty years ago but totally lost touch.
Last I recall, there was some sort of incident at Muncie involving BOM but I have no knowledge of any details.

I hear you, Bob!  I've spent a lot of time in the last couple of years trying to re-connect with old friends and flying buddies.  Too many of them are no longer with us.

I recently read Charles Mackey's PIONEERS OF CONTROL LINE FLYING copyrighted in 1995. What a great story of the old-time greats that made this sport what it is today, a great read for anyone interested in the history of CL.

Bob, our past discussion on the topic filled in a lot of questions of the old-time greats...keep up the good work, your knowledge is amazing!

This happened in the late 90s. There was questions about how much of the plane Brian was flying did he actually build. It appeared to be old model of Windy's. I was there and the story I was told is that it was an old plane of Windy's that had a damaged front end. Then it was rebuilt and Brian flew it in Advanced. He won that year. There was an official protest. The protest was upheld, not sure what the deciding factor was. Brian lost appearance points moving him back to fourth place.

IIRC he did come back and fly again the next year. I think that was his last time.  Never heard much more about them after that.

     I would add that, when push came to shove, Brian told the truth, even though he knew full well he was going to get DQed. I give him credit for that one for sure.

See, I never knew about that incident as I was pretty much out of touch with them.

I was curious because I taught Brian how to fly and I had no idea exactly what happened at Muncie.

One of the guys in the Philly Flyers said he thought that Brian was working on a commercial pilot's licence but that might have been hearsay.
I never even attempted to verify.

That's pretty much all I know.

For what it's worth, while learning to fly, he wrecked five airplanes on one particular "training" day.
