It was cold (34 degrees) but the flying field was dry and there was very little wind.  Steve Smith and I got in our February flights.  With thermal underwear and lots of layers, we were both quite comfortable.  Except for holding the plane after it started... Talk about wind-chill factor!  It felt like zero behind that prop.  Bright sunshine and clear blue skies.  We had a great time.  If the weather is this good next weekend, the Ice-O-Lated Contest will be a great success.  I had to coax the FP .20 to start the first time.  After that it hand started easily.

See you next Sunday at the Ice-O-Lated.

Yeah, he is looking good and 100% again.  Did you see Howard Terrell from Kansas City logged in, too.  He sticks a plane in his car when he is working and flies every place he can.  Howard flies so often at Buder Park he joined Lafayette Esquadrille and got a Buder Park permit.

See you this weekend.

Yup, flying in February is interesting. We flew at the Narrows yesterday and all of us needed lighter fluid to get the engines started. 41 degrees, overcast and humidity up around 80%. Engines get cranky when it's cold. Not much wind, though.
