New product, Gorilla White Glue

I do a lot of woodworking along with being a modeler. Seems like I am getting some sort of "try me" information in the mail everyday. I got a sample of a new white glue by Gorilla a little while back. With my daughter having two boys,there seems like I never catch up with the picture frame requests I get from her. The last batch that I made I tried the new Gorilla white glue. I have to say that I am impressed. The time that I have to leave the frame in the clamp to dry is 1/4 as long as I am used to. It also sands very easy. I think this will be a good product for use in modeling.

  How about expansion? The Gorilla glue that I know is great and very strong but foams up when it cures. With the white glue is this still taking place?

Not the same product at all. This product is just like the old Elmer's glue with a much shorter drying time. You will find it in Home Depot or Lowe's with the other Gorilla glue. Its white like Elmer's.

I bought some to replace my Pica Glu-it2 . Its works fine, dries fast and I like it but it is not like Glue -it2 , it is not a polymerized Aliphatic glue. You can get something similar to Glu-it2, but isn't cheap, its for making Guitars. Its at :

It is a polyvinyl glue called instrument makers glue, it is listed along with other cool stuff at the site above.

I use the LMI filks a lot and will vouch for any product they sell.  When I charge clients for an instrument I need to know it's going to last them the rest of their life!  (Barring being run over by the band's buss, that is.)
But - I have found that Titebond III is as good as it gets for both having more working time to get the work clamped and then less clamp up time for it to cure.  It's good stuff.
I still use the original Gorilla glue as well in my guitars, but in very select places.

Your flying in that bumpy gusty cold wind at the Narrows yesterday was purty-heckitity darn impressive with some really nice squares. You, Pete and Mike Harverly were all cutting through that turbulence with some reeeeeeeeeeally BRAVE HEART STUFF.

Very impressive engine runs...in such cold weather.  Also Quite an art and science in gettin' those quality first flip starts and listening to PeteeP' explain in detail, his starting procedure was quite entertaining and illuminating.
He has such a great humor and  way with words... CLP*

Thanks for the link, Peter. That really does sound like Glu-It! And $8 for an 8 oz. bottle isn't terribly expensive; it'll do for two planes, at least.

Ralph its not the price of the glue but the shipping that turns it into a $15 bottle. Best to get together with others and buy a couple at a time.

Don, thanks for the compliments. I have a ways to go learning to fly especially in the wind. Pete P is a good teacher. He is patient and his explanations are clear. I was having a heck of a time getting that inverted B40 to start. I think I now know the trick. If I could just get my planes finished like his I'd be a happy camper, I love the dyed clear dope finish but you can't have filler under it and I'm not that good a woodworker.
