I`m scratchbulding a Stunting Ringmaster pro.35 to be flown with a Mccoy.35 and I would like to know what would be the rudder and engine offset you guys would recomend.

I use an adjustable l/o guide, and no rudder offset, and use one washer under the front lug of your McCoy engine.
Other's have suggestions that will work also. Best of luck, and keep the Rmaster light 24-25 oz if possible...

If everything is right, 2* engine offset, 5* rudder offset. Do not use washers, use thrust wedges, sold by Brodak.

I'm off of Gil's weight recommendation by 9 ounces (and no, I do not have a 16 ounce plane). But with adjustable leadouts, no rudder offset, and a really desensitized elevator, my S-1 flies pretty good (for a heavy pig of an airplane, that is).

1-1.5* of engine offset, and about 3* of rudder. This to make sure there is no "inset" in either.

I built the RSM kit, and airfoiled the rudder and it seemed to work well.

I have built two from old Sterling kits. The first one weighed 32 ounces with a Fox 35, and the second one had fairly light wood and weighed 28 ounces with a McCoy 35. The second one fly's really well, so I think 28 ounces or less is good. It has won several Old Time contests when others were having bad luck. LOL. My friend Andrew Hathaway just finished up one he scratch built with a Fox 35. We were out flying yesterday in the wind which was gusting to 20 mph, and it flew extremely well. His weighs 28 ounces also. But then Andrew can fly a Ringmaster/Fox35 better than I can fly most PA ships.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will go with the 3 degrees of offset and will offset engine as adviced,I don`t have adjustable lead outs and was planning to use the location shown on the ringmaster plan by Pat jhonston.Thanks again.

The lead out position on the plans should work fine. You may not need the rudder offset since I knocked the rudder off of my S-1 and it flew just fine. y1
