Ringmaster Question (Answered thanks)
« on: October 01, 2006, 01:49:14 PM »
Building an OTS legal Ringmaster by Hobby Fasteners.  There were two 1/4 x  1 1/4 wooden dowel pins supplied in the kit. I can"t find any application for them on the plans.  Anybody know?

These are for the arrow shaft push rod.

Wouldn't they be put through the fuse for attaching the rubber bands on the "shock absorbing" landing gear? I'm thinkn' so.

Leester is correct, they are for the arrowshaft pushrod assembly.  The pushrod assembly shown makes a light, strong, stiff pushrod.
The shock absorbing gear was on Goldberg airplanes.

Thanks guys,  never thought of it because I usually use the plastic inserts normally supplied with arrow shaft pushrod kits.

NEVER, repeat, NEVER use the plastic inserts on the DB push rods! No matter how much you sand them, no matter what kind of epoxy you use, they will break loose and your push rod comes apart! Seems there might be some release chemical in them, or? Planted two planes the same way :'(
