So I found some people in my area. [Few shots inside]
« on: October 02, 2011, 10:12:54 PM »
So I had a free day Saturday and decided to drive up I-65 to fly with Chad Hill and some guys.
Chad gave me some directions but as soon as I took the exit I had my windows down and turned my music down.
I could heard someone flying and from the road I saw a wingover. I found the spot pretty easily  :P

So I pulled up in my beat up Corolla and walked up with a flight streak in one hand and a sandwich in the other hand.
No one knew who I was because Chad hadn't arrive yet.

I was greeted with hand shakes and smiles. They all told me it was my turn to fly. They insisted that they'd pit for me. So I grabbed the handle.
I could hear some surprised shouts from the guys when this new stranger began flying clovers with his flight streak in strong winds.

I landed and they said their rule was, you fly twice.  :)
So I put up a second flight, good needle setting. Classic 'flight streak flip' landing  ;D

I had a Pepsi and watched some very talented flights. I saw a Strega flown by Mr. Steve Maddox, and a beautiful scratch built plane crafted by a gentleman who's name escapes me.

Anyway to sum it up. I had a blast I plan on becoming a regular (if that's okay with them)  :P

Also here are some shots. I snapped a few but my battery died on my Canon. The last one was with my iphone covered in castor oil.

Always carry an extra battery for your camera (or film, if it uses that). I had to change the battery in mine at our Fun Fly on Saturday. If I hadn't had one, I would have mist (sic) this picture of my new stunter:

Steve, there is a picture from an old issue of FM showing Ward VanDuzer launching a stunter just like your new one in the image.  The plane in the magazine was called the "Martini' because it was a very DRY stunt ship...
