Speaking of the Jetco Dolphin.
Has anyone or heard of anyone building this design with a different style wing.
Aka Nobler or Chipmunk or other type of wings.
  Just curious.

The beauty of the Lew Macfarland Dolphin is its simple construction.
Constant cord wing, box fuselage with carved top block no cowl and fuselage mounted landing gear
I've had a couple of them and they are awesome.
Stick an FP .20 on it and have fun.

Lyle. What do you think of that kit over all. How's the wood.

But then, it wouldn't be a Dolphin. ;D

I had an original kit given to me many years ago but never built it because all of the wood was heavy and very hard. Neat design though. y1

Just was curious.
A lot of new planes evolved from making a change here and there.
I agree on the old kit wood. A box of templates. But once in while decent wood found its way into a kit or two.

Just for info, Walter U. kits the Dolphin. I'm going to build mine with an LA25 in it.

As another side note, this is where the kit ribs from that old Dolphin finally ended up, in the original design "Old Fokker" profile also kitted by Walter. The rest of the wood gradually disappeared one way or another.

Tony, wood quality in replica kit from Penn Valley is top grade. Very impressive. I saw it on ebay and they shipped it , very well packaged.

The Penn Valley kit is real nice,I built one but have not finished it.  All it needs is sanding and paint,I will power mine with an ENYA.30SS. here is the thread when I was building.

Thank you.
Looks very nice. Those OS 30's are a good replacement for a fox 35.
