Rugged Stunt Trainer

I just assembled one of Phli Cartier's Rugged Stunt Trainer kits for a friend.  If anyone is looking for an inexpensive, tough trainer that goes together easy, this is it.  .20 to .40 glow or electric. Extremely simple construction and the parts fit great. I think it's a steal at $60. I am going to order 2 for Samuel.

I got one earlier this year and agree it is a great looking kit... Test fitting on the board all parts are good wood and fit well. The cores are also well cut and need very little finish work...Planning to use the SLC I got with the kit

Got side tracked building it as all the vintage combat threads and meeting Riley Wooten has me building a Voo Doo and a Demon right now

I will finish the RST this fall

OS 25 FX on the nose should haul it faster than I can fly

I did not glass the nose. The fuse and tail are 2 coats nitrate dope, 3 coats black dope, 2 coats clear dope.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I used Rustoleum grey primer under the Rustoleum white on the fuselage and tail on my RST.  The color on the wing is from Folkart craft paint that I swiped from my wife's craft box.  SLC covering over the wings.  

I worried about snapping the fuselage behind the wing in a crash.  To bolster the area I put a few layers of fiberglass, starting 3 inches in front of the trailing edge and then extended back 4" from the TE.   Perhaps it's a placebo effect, but I am glad I did as it has taken some brutal hits and has survived.
