just heard through the Tucson grape vine that there is talk of taking a collection for a bounty on a notorious Ringmaster. I told them that I would chip in S?P

Catch him if you can.

Anybody have a skeet gun?

Not going to help, all that would happen is that he gets a BETTER airplane, and beats you by 100 points instead of 75.

I met Joe at the team trials in Dallas....what a nice guy! Then got to watch him fly two rounds with a flapped ringmaster in an evil wind to earn a spot on the team. Now that was cool!

Sacrilege! "Only" a Ringmaster??? If your a shooter Is it "only" a 1911A1? If you're in the Air Force Is it "only" a C-130 Hercules? If your a railroader is it "only" a SD-40-2?
The Ringmaster is THE definitive profile mid size "stunt" design! It's as much of a classic as anything out there, only better because for so many people it was the means of entry into larger planes, and into stunt flying. Were there better cars than a Ford Pinto or Chevy Vega? Yes, certainly. But how many kids got their start driving something like them?
Don't knock the Ringmaster just because it was very basic, very simple and perhaps didn't have a perfect airfoil shape. It flew! It flew very well if built right and trimmed well. And it was affordable and easily built by the masses.

You can calm down Gary, no offense meant toward the Ringmaster, you just didn't get the joke. D>K

Didn't cause me any problems!
I am curious who managed to beat Joe, there aren't many potential candidates! Did "Bartron" make an appearance?

Jim Hoffman beat him.

I couldn’t fly due to enemy action. Three, count them, three times people kicked my lines, jearking the plane violently. The third one snapped the fuselage. No flying for me.
(Could Joe and Jim have put them up to it?) u LL~
-
Jim Hoffman beat him.
Way to go! Not too often you beat a FAI Team member in his chosen medium (of Ringmaster).

About time some one put Joe in his place. LL~ LL~ Jim Hoffman is one dedicated flyer and would have loved to see his flight. D>K

Has the bounty been raised?

Joe Gilbert won Classic with a Ringmaster!!!! His high point flight was 600!
