Yesterday Larry Renger myself and several other members of the Knights of the Round Circle took turns manning our club booth at the convention. We were the only representatives of control line in the entire building. We had several planes on display from a Cox PT-19 to full flap stinter's. Being a total control line club, not just stunt, we also had some speed planes on display, and during the day Larry was building a Blackhawk model. We did get lots of interest, we even had a couple of people showing interest in visiting our flying site and getting back into control line after many years in R/C. Sound familiar? Hands down the plane that got the most interest was PT-19 countless people would stop to say that was the plane the got them hooked into model airplanes. The speed planes had a lot of wow factor, they just look fast sitting on a table. Best of all I had two members of this forum stop and talk after they saw my name on the convention badge, that really made me feel good. We are a brotherhood, we may be small in numbers but we are truly dedicated to our hobby. One last thing I did take a walk on the dark side and played with several simulator, man have they come a long way. Oh, an man have my R/C skills slipped a bit. After a few minutes on the simulator was back to flying and shooting fairly decent landings. I even took a couple of turns on he helicopter simulator, I have been thinking about buying a RTF electric that Tower is offering. Good thing I tried out he simulator helicopters are nothing like fixed wing, before I would even think about flying a reel model I would spend several hours on the simulator.
Anyway to the forum members who stopped by thanks a million it was great talking to you. To my fellow members of the KOTRC, we did good guys.
