Return of Microaeronautics
« on: August 17, 2013, 01:55:31 PM »
Hey, I found a gem. Someone attempted (and apparently managed) to archive all the defunct Geocities sites. 99.9% of it should have been defunct, of course, there's only so many web sites that actually need "dancing baby" or "hampsterdance". However there were pearls in the pig slop, and Pete Soule's "Microaeronautics" site is one of them.

Lots of good engineering here, good old racing history articles, just a well-done site overall. This is where LINEII came from, for instance.

Got to his home page. The first article I tried to read could not be found (yet). Maybe try again later.

Hey, shouldn't you be spending some of this idle time working on a new plane? I know.....as soon as David gets a new one, you will also.....maybe.....

As we did for Wayne Trivin's website, I will be capturing this and making it available on the NCLRA website. Hope it will be saved forever that way.

I would have to remove enough old radios and old radio parts and old radio test equipment to find the workbench first. Then do the same for the floor.

I am actually going to fly my regular airplane for the first time since May tomorrow - and with the entire F troop, just like the good old days!

Pete was at the KOTRC monthly meeting last Tuesday night, and I saw him at the Joust last weekend at Whittier Narrows.  He might even be in one of my photos when they eventually get posted.

Next time you see him, please pass on my appreciation for his wonderful work. I have never met him, just exchanged a few emails, but I think his site was great. Be even greater if he moved it to a viable server and kept it going!
