Retirement for Don Still
« on: September 18, 2015, 10:59:54 PM »
Don Still in Beaumont Texas has decided to retire after a long career of running the local hobby shop.  Always quick with advice or a good story he helped me along in many of my projects and kept me on target. I do not remember when he opened his shop but it was several years before I was born and I am no spring chicken at nearly 60. I wish him well and thank him for all the help. It was always a pleasure to watch him fly and inspired my rather mediocre skills to improve. Except for the fact that he winked at my wife ever time I brought her in the shop he is an outstanding individual and it is a pleasure to have made his acquaintance. :-)

Mr. Still is a real gentleman.

I am both happy and sad to hear of his retirement. Happy because he is retiring to enjoy life without having to open the store every day. Sad that he will no longer be available to all of the modelers in Beaumont who wander into the store to get help. With so many of the "real hobby shops" going away there is a general lack of knowledge available to folks who build and fly.
