I use acrylic lacquer thinner (PPG) indiscriminately along with Brodak dopes.  Therefore, by deduction, SIG retarder should work fine with acrylic lacquer.  And SIG products are available at most hobby shops.

I use SIG retarder only if I'm getting "blushing" with a sprayed coat.  Only enough to stop the blushing.

Typically, when spraying Acrylic laquer, there are different formulations of Thinner for different temperatures, and very very rarely is retarder needed. NOTE ACRYLIC laquer, not Butyrate or nitrate here, I painted lots of cars with Acrylic laquer,, in all kinds of weather and used slower reducer for hot weather. So the answer is to go to a auto paint supplier that still sells Acrylic laquer, and get slower reducer for the product you are spraying, only If that failed would I risk introducing retarder into the mix.

Thanks fellow's, I tried to locate some lacquer here in South Louisiana and all the paint suppliers told me that they don't sell any lacquer products anymore.
That is why I was asking here..  Again thanks,

Bootlegger.  Acrylic lacquer is very much still used in the auto body shops.  You can't go to just any local paint store.  Look for "automotive finishing" or "industrial" paint in the yellow pages.

Even a jerkwater town like mine has a store that caters to the auto finishing trade.
