Moved to a new place earlier this year. Found the bits to a plane I started a while ago and put it back on the front burner.
-
Carved a pair of pants but believe the plan had changed to use one of them as a plug for a set of molds.

After countless hours of old-school pencil on paper designing/drafting it looks like...
a big Nobler...

It looks very nice Bill. Keep us posted as you work on it.

Hi Bill. I'll be watching this thread close. Glad to see it happening.
-
Thanks fellas, got a start on the flaps this evening.
-
Just let me know when you're ready to cover the wing. I'll need to swing by and check the operation!
-
I like it.

Thanks Randy, was tempted to shape it swoopier and more fancy but those planes will come later. For the whole, and old, story on this plane go here.

Moving along with the flaps. They’ll be sanded, tapered and sheeted.

The shear webs are an experiment.

Looking good.

I have been working on similar plane. In my case, resurrecting concept for plane I flew at Nats in my youth. Original was Gieseke Nobler scaled up 20 percent. Called it Plus 20. This is more of a squint replica of that. Calling it Tribute

Bill,
You need to finish that dude up!
