I've been mostly hiding out in my basement shop now for months. And it actually paid off!
The Uber-Hai is done! 54" wingspan, 50.6 ounces, LA-46 power. And that is a flat-clear finish since it is supposed to be a warplane.

Couple more...

When I was installing the hinges I almost dropped it a couple of times. Got glue all over the place and started wondering when the rake was going to drop. i was at the finish line and tripping over it! Happily, Uber-Hai survived my clumsiness bout. My wife was probably wondering what all the yelling down in the basement was about. Some people argue with themselves; me, I start yelling at myself....

Looks great Scott!

I love shop pictures. There’s the Stab from the ‘90 comic book plane on the wall and to its left, a rubber powered helicopter. You sent me one of those when I was in Saudi during Desert Shield. I still have it!
Nice looking plane!

What else can I add other than I really love it. I too talk and yell at my self. That is why I keep Sandy my poodle around to give me the look and quiet me down. H^^
-
That's a beaut!

r. And that is a flat-clear finish since it is supposed to be a warplane.
All those "rivets" do suggest an all-metal warplane. Painted planes, warbirds or not, are painted all over, rivets included.l
I would not expect to see rivets a different color, or not painted at all;

It is official you should be quarantined more often, and for the same reason. #^ #^ #^ #^

Bruce: it was the least I could do! My gosh, I'd forgotten I'd sent you that helicopter. Moreover, I had to blow up the picture a bit to see it hanging on the wall. So, you've got both a better memory and eyesight than me!
Like my Lancaster spotting model? I think that it might be an original form WWII. It was given to me with both rudders broken off. I couldn't have that! So I got some sheet plastic and repaired it so it could be back in action. Happily it didn't make a bombing run on Uber-Hai while under construction....

Nice camo job.
Motorman 8)
P.S. Don't leave it in the driveway.
Ooooh! You guys is cruel! That's how the local Godfather keeps me in line: I wake up with a rake head in my bed..... :o

Thanks, I didn't know that! I'll make sure to paint over them next time....

Ah...”comic book airplane” translates to Silver Lancer. Now I remember.

Since the new ones aren't silver anymore they get called something a bit different: SL-2 and SL-3
