Title: rercycled parts ????
Post by: jim gilmore on April 02, 2015, 08:13:41 AM
Saw a video about making some stuff from hdpe recycle plastics #2.
And made me wonder if anybody else had seen this and if they though about doing it to make stuff like bellcrancks and such ?

I thought about doing it and I did! That blob use to be a milk bottle. I clamped the hot plastic between two boards with 5/16th spacers to get the thickness I wanted. Cut real easy with no clogging or melting on the jigsaw. Seems strong enough but will test it tomorrow. My wife was impressed.

Reuse, repurpose, recycle, dang I feel like huggin' a tree right now. Next project HDPE hard point handle. I've got a new hobby now melting things.

That's pretty darn cool.

It was hot, but now it's cool.  I mean, it's cooled down.  I mean, it's hot, but it's not hot, because if it were hot it would be flexible, and that wouldn't be hot.

Oh, I'm confused.

Cool that's exactly what I was thinking of that it would work well for.
But please do NOT call me Jimmy...that was reserved for my mom . Whom is gone now.
