Looks like a great candidate for Best of Show. Ray's work is always impeccable. I would love to know what magazine is in the cockpit. Bob Gialdini was the first that I saw have a magazine there.

The "Sting Ray" is a beautiful design that has the I-Beam look. I wonder how many people know that it is not a true I-Beamer?

You have to hand it to Ray. As I recall, Bob G's "Sting Ray" had a Playboy magazine in it.

You should see it in person.  Pictures don't do it justice.   H^^

Among many other things, Mr. Firkin really knows how to build a canopy and cockpit. I've seen it before; his models are awesome.

By all means, a big thumbs up to Mr. Firkens
I see people my age out there climbing mountains and zip lining and here I am feeling good about myself because I got my leg through my underwear without losing my balance

When I left the field today, he had Bart Klapinski giving him pointers about his flying.  Plane is gorgeous in the air. H^^

With that Stingray, Ray became a candidate for the Pachyderm award.  He might want to explain how well the thing flies when it has the added ballast of the starter battery for what was to be his third official flight.  He flew the tank out and landed without incident for an attempt. It was a positive test on how well the battery can remain attached to the motor mounted in an inverted postion for a seven minute level fllight and landing.
