Title: Reposting my apparently "lost" .DWG post
Post by: John Miller on December 27, 2012, 10:32:47 AM
I have been looking for my previous posting with this drawing, and it seems to have disappeared. So, I've updated it a little, and I am re-posting it at a slightly large size. The wing shows at 644 sq. inches.

The wing is basically a Legacy wing. and uses a NASA 4 digit airfoil, that averages to about 18% thick, with the flaps installed.

The fuselage starts out with many of the Legacy's numbers ad consists of guide lines that will help you roll your own shapes within the normal numbers variations, thus helping you design a a good performing stunter.

There are several files, and I've attached them as .dwg, and .dxf in the A2000 files. most cad systems will open this older format.  I've also plotted them as small Pdf files to allow even those who do not have a cad program to be able to see the files.

The ribs shown on the wing plan, can be used by a laser cutter to cut the ribs for you, or you can hand cut them.

Good luck, and if you have any qesions, feel free to contact me.  H^^

Thanks Allen, My best wishes go out to you and your family for the New Year. Stay safe.

I thought you might recognise where the base came from. The Legacy has become all that was hoped for. I'm always grateful to have worked with you on it.

I've yet to post the .dwg and .dxf files. I am getting the file size reduced, so I can post them.

John,

Happy Holiday!

Thanks for that posting, I appreciate it. I'm developing more interest in those type of models and your drawings will come in handy.

Will any of those files open in Illustrator? I'm on a Mac.

Charles

If your program can open a .dwg type extension, the answer should be yes. I'm working on an issue that will clean up the .dxf extension files. A prperly working illustration program hould be compatible then

You could down load the free CAD program from Draft Sight. It is a real nice program. The price is right, and it works well with Auto CAD. Try googling "draft sight" to find out if a Mac compatible version is available.

Best wishes for what's left of the holidays, and the New Year as well.

John,
It wasn't lost to me.  It's still right on my Desktop where I put it.

Thanks,
