Renger 1/2a handle
« on: March 13, 2016, 12:54:09 PM »
Good morning.

I recently bought a 1/2 A Renger handle from RSM; I already assembled it but I am not clear regarding how to install the spacers or the cables. I want to use steel lines but I am not certain how to do this-the pictures in the handle instructions are not clear.

Also, for the handle itself, what kind of cable should I use? Should I use the Brodak cable and clamp kit or something smaller?

Thanks.

aba

here are a few pics of my Ranger 1/2A handle.  Mine had the handle wire included which yours should have had also.

Chose the spacer you want to use and it is installed like a piece of lunch meat between 2 slices of bread (so to speak) using the 3 screws/washers and t-nuts.

the handles wire is secured using a screw/washer/and t-nut and it also used for line adjustment by loosening the screw and sliding the wire one
way or the other to center your elevator on the plane.

you can see the spacer installed between the 2 outer pieces of the handle in the picture of the handle leaning against the parts box. (the dark piece of wood)
With the handle hook up to the control lines, the handles lead wire just swings forward towards the plane. (if that make sense)
hope this helps you out.

Thank you very much for the photos. These are much clearer than the manual.
