OK I got a restrictor from a very nice guy on the west coast. I did not think I had a insert in my K&B 35. After I got the new restrictor I saw how they go in and I see now that I have a restrictor in the K&B but it is silver so I did not see it at first.
I think the new Green restrictor is smaller and will allow the K&B to 4-2 break.
So here is my question.....
How do I get the old one out. Or is it once installed you can not get them out?
I tried to heat up the vent with my soilder gun but no luck.
Any other suggestions? :-\
Thanks

Hi Paul,
Send it to me, and I will remove it. x:

Keep the green one.
The silver one has a bigger Inside Diameter than the green one. That's why they are a different color.
I have both colors and I think there is yet a third (red maybe).
The silver one should come out easily once you remove the spraybar. That has been my experience with them.
You will find that the green insert will calm it down to a more stunt friendly run.

First thing I'd try would be to give the crankcase at least a 48 hr. soak in the hot antifreeze, to (maybe) remove any corrosion. Liquid Wrench, etc., might also help.
I have made a simple expansion thingy to remove rear ball races before. I turned an aluminum plug to a good fit, drilled a hole down the center, split it with a hacksaw, and screwed a sheet metal screw into it to expand it. Then, tapped on the aluminum slug, with heat on the case, and out she came. Same approach might be useful, possibly with a fender pounder's slide hammer attached to the sheet metal screw.
I had an OS Max III .35 with a suction insert that was solidly stuck in the venturi. I screwed an appropriate sized tap into it, pulled with visegrips, and out it came. Of course, the insert was trashed. A replica insert could probably be reverse-engineered without a lot of trouble. It depends on how serious you want to get. Why not try an 11-4?
