A couple of weeks ago, February 23rd, we had the Minneapolis Piston Popper club Swap Meet. This event is held every year during our regular February club meeting. For me this is always a "do not miss" event. It's a wonderful opportunity to sell a bunch of stuff that I don't need, and, drag home a bunch more stuff that I don't need.

An irresistable item found on the tables this year was an Ares with a great running Double Star .40 that Keith Sandberg had apparently fallen out of love with. This was only because during the ride home from the field a few years ago, it was damaged on the bottom of the wing when someone pulled out in front of him or something and he had to pull an "evasive maneuver". The incident busted up a few of the ribs and popped the covering and it had just been hanging on his wall ever since. Right before the swap meet he fixed the ribs and patched up the wing and put it up for sale (
super cheap) just as you see it here. I can't believe no one snapped it up at the bargain price but at the end of the night it was still sitting there so I
had to grab it. It's got some mileage on it but it will still be a good flier. All it needs is a few more coats of clear on the patches, some sanding and paint work, and it'll be ready to go...
