Title: Relearning

In Tuscon at VSC I did not get to practice like in the past.   Did have several flights on the Thunderbolt before the winter set in tho.   Someone mentioned it sounded like my old Fox was getting hot.   That was the first official.  The second official which I called off the engine ran a rich four stroke before it decided to get warm.  Anyway Monday, 4-9-12, I tried flying the plane and it got lean and I finally got it to quit inverted.   Today I did the quick and dirty modification to the cowl.   I thought I had enough exhaust opening for cooling.   I tripled the areas on  both sides of the cowl.   Got two flights tonight and am pleased with the improvement.   The engine never went lean until the last couple of laps, the way I try to set up my tanks.   Just need to needle the old Fox a little to get her back up to speed.   No I am not going to make a new cowl like some people I know on here.   It will be a reminder for me to think a little harder next time or listen to people.   HB~> HB~> HB~>

 Did we ever see any finished pics of your T-Bolt?

 That's a Thunderbolt? I thought you meant the P-47 Razorback one that you were showing build photos of a while back.

It's the other Thunderbolt. It's a British design, olde man! The kit also was from jolly olde, as I recall. Notice the Palmer-ish fin/rudder? Looks a lot like a PowWow, actually, except for the horizontal looks more like Ringmaster surplus.  LL~

That's an awful dilemma.  I don't like to do either.
