SPPA, Inc.would like to announce our staff has been hard at work and we are pleased to bring you the 2019 King Orange International Expert “Loaner” Program.
We appreciate Florida is a long way from many of the other hotbeds of Control Line Stunt activities, so we decided to do everything in our power to make the 2019 King Orange International control line stunt meet as attractive to participants as we can. It is one of the reasons we are offering both trophies and prize monies to the winners of the various events.
As part of this effort, we have been busy securing high quality Expert loaner aircraft for use by some of our participants. As many of you know, this is a “flying” contest, we have a separate event just for the Builder of the Model and appearance points, the Gene Martine Concours Award. Part of the reason we did this is so participants could actually fly any aircraft in the events. This allows us to secure loaner aircraft so that participants who do not wish to make the long drive to Florida can still come by air travel without the need of bringing along an aircraft. We have secured those aircraft for you.
These are Expert class aircraft which have previously won contests and are known good flying aircraft. For 2019, we are only trying to make these aircraft available for those entering the Expert event. This is the premiere event at King Orange offering trophies through third place and a $1000.00 cash prize for the winner.
Perhaps in future years we might expand this loaner program or perhaps not. It is not easy to secure and transport these aircraft.
Because many of you currently or formerly worked in the aviation industry, airfare can be little or no cost. Even those who have to pay for airfare may find this an attractive option considering the length of the drive to Florida.
We hope some of you will consider taking advantage of our loaner aircraft program, we would love to see you in September down by the Suwannee River in Florida at the 2019 King Orange International stunt meet.
