Thanks for the input so far. Not bad for a holiday weekend and everyone is busy doing some thing else! I wish I had some contacts for British car enthusiasts. I found a part laying on a work bench, that once I got it cleaned up and talked to a local friend of his, discovered it was a front spindle off a 1980's vintage Lola Indy car! Don't know what the thing was there for, but no one claimed it, and the same friend asked if he could have it. he and Jimmy were good friends and knew each other a long time, and this guy's Dad ran a race shop in Indy about that time period. Makes me wonder if he was going to make a knock off or something for that spindle? it is a very fine pitch thread, but even for a wheel knock off I don't think you would go that fine. The mystery continues, but the answer is out there somewhere.
