I recently ordered two more EVO 36 CL engines from Horizon. One was shipped immediately and the other was back ordered. It arrived today. I took it down stairs to put it on the shelf with the other two I have. I noticed the box was slightly larger and the graphics were different. Upon closer examination of the picture, it advertised a new higher compression head (in blue) and showed and described a conventional needle valve assembly at the venturi. I had heard that EVO was going to offer at least parts for conversion, but here it seemed that I had a new engine already fitted.
I opened the box only to be greeted by the old style with a rear mounted needle valve and a silver head. Apparently, the new boxes got out before the new style engines. At least, we have a glimpse of what might be around the corner.

I'm glad that they are offering the conversion for the needle valve assembly and the venturi, however I don't think a higher compression head was really needed in the USA. Perhaps for our friends where nitro is a problem though,it will be really appreciated.
