Randy Powell’s Ringmaster Deluxe
« on: August 04, 2010, 02:43:06 PM »
I am primarily looking for replies from all that said they are interested buying a kit of Randy Powell’s Ringmaster Deluxe.

The plans that were drawn for Randy show a built up ½” thick fuselage with 1/8 skins and doublers making the fuselage ¾” wide, then it has a 3/8 nose Tripler on the inboard side of the fuselage.

It also shows a front view of the bulkheads and a side view of the nose piece for the cantered engine, and just so you know; I am including the two plywood bulkheads for the cantered engine with the profile version as it is currently drawn.

Okay, so here’s what I need to know from those looking to actually buy the kit.

Do you want the kit to be available as the profile (as currently drawn) or the actual cantered nose version?
Thank you and God Bless
Walter

I vote cantered nose. Cantered nose is a must if you want the 40VF piped version.

I'd vote for the canted nose.  What do you expect the price to be?

Canted nose , is first choice.  Would also accept regular profile style nose .

Why can't you include materials for both versions in the kit?

I suspect that either version will fly well. If you plan to use a rear exhaust engine and pipe like I did, then you have to make a choice: build the canted nose or get a trick header. I choose to build it with a canted nose. It can be tricky making sure everything is lined up, but it works pretty well.

Hi Walter

My preference would be as drawn but I have a couple of OS 40 piped engines.  I'm just less likely to put one on a profile.
