Tulsa Contest
« on: September 25, 2009, 10:00:52 PM »
Beautiful weather Friday and a few fliers showed up early to get in some practice and leisure flights. That Dynajet ate up a lot of ground before getting airborne! Check us out online this weekend-

The Dynajet is a scratchbuilt job that belongs to Mike Donovan from Vicksburg Mississippi. It was started by Mike and Bob Reeves, and Joe Gilbert flew it. The fuel tank would only give a one minute flight, and made glorious amounts of noise!

We have a great turnout for the Gluedobber September contest this weekend.

Women and children ran and hid. The Dynajet was great. Something you just do not see every day. They did go high tech though, and used an air compressor to start it rather than a tire pump. It was a blast. Pun intended.

Great to see Lew out there with a handle in his hand.  Things must be going well for him.

Another one put to bed...

I'm real proud of the Gluedobbers, everyone involved jumped right in and did what needed to be done to make this what I feel is one of the smoothest running contest we have ever held..

Thanks to those that worked, thanks to those that entered, thanks to those that made donations to our raffle and thanks to those that bought tickets. We had a ball..

Thanks to all the Glue Dobbers, wives, helpers, and judges. Us flyers had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves. The whole contest weekend was way special. Thanks again you guys. Oh! And thanks to Elwyn for the great picture trophys. By the way; The Golden State Models kit of the Sterling P51 kit, that I won in the raffle, has some of the best wood that I have seen in a kit. I do not build many kits, as I like scratch building so well, but I will build this one for sure. I built my first Sterling P51 a long time ago, and it was my first "big" plane". This one will be special.

I messed up my post, but will try again. It's the Pulltest Machines in Tulsa! By far the smoothest, most fool-proof, accurate to use ever! And, here's the clincher- if you for some reason continue to pull after the flag has dropped, the force "lets off", as does a compound bow, if you're familiar with those....it was worth the five hour drive to Tulsa just to get pulled.....:)

Another wonderful event put on by the Control Line Tulsa Gluedobbers,

You can't say enough for what Bob and the Gang did to put this meet on. The pull test units (instruments) were without doubt the most professionally made "pull testers" I've seen. Most of all...my thanks to all, for the recognition that my plane received..."the best moments of the hobby."  H^^
