I am sorry.
« on: May 23, 2009, 08:49:05 AM »
I want to apologise to the site, I wanted to make a point about using stooges to launch your model and I mentioned where to get a free model plane, that was crossing the line, I will not do that again. I do want to make a point that I feel is very important.
Today we tend to keep to ourselves, we order a model through the mail, build it in the basement and slip off to fly it all alone on a deserted field. In the 50's things were different, you and your neighbors would get together for picnics, bowling, card games and parties. It was easy to get someone to go flying with. Maybee ....Just maybe if you approached your neighbor, relative, friend or .... you might find that they would be interested in seeing what you do with those model planes. You could sweeten the pot with the offer to bring a plane along for them to try out. Remember good stooges are made ... not born. The other bonus is the camaraderie between flights.

I don't know about others, but I fail to see the need for any apology, Larry...you gave good information about availability of airplanes.  And didn't you wind up putting the notice in the vendor's corner?  What is that section for, if not for just that kind of thing?

Did someone complain? Maybe I need to apologize too for occasionally plugging my kits.

Ray, what I did was to add that they could get a free plane to teach someone to fly from ........ on the venders page and that was considered advertizing.

Larry although i am new here i to see no need for an apology-after all if you pull some new blood in to this wonderful hobby they will end up purchasing from the other wonderful vendors, and while i believe c/l is growing it could always use a boost!!!sometimes a freebie can be a good calling card.just my 2 cents.Ron D>K

I see other things that need apologizing, but not this. I see no harm. Your a valuable contributor here.

Considering that you offered a trainer not the next greatest stunt airframe or other gizmo, I don't see the harm. This hobby needs new blood to keep going , no one should blame you for trying.

Just my opinion
