Us Nats prep is going well.....
Generally I'm not a morning person - Especially in winter.. Sure my bed is warm and comfortable but how can you expect to put in the hard yards when your asleep? As a result its time to set the alarm a little earlier than expected. Putting in 28 Flights a day is possible when you start early.
How early ?
Here is my recent schedule now that I'm on Holidays. Which isn't really " Holidays" Its starting a new job of stunt flier, the days are long ,and we start early.
For the record - this was yesterday and it was 39.5 F - but calm .. :)
Cannot wait till we get to USA for 100+ F
Get up at 5:35 - have coffee and breakfast
Pack the car 6:00am
Be at the Field 6:20am
1st Flight 6:45
Last flight -10 hrs later - 5pm
Make no mistake - its cold at 5:30 am - and its dark...
;D
The fog did lift but only at about 10am..

I enjoy Summer - We dont think its hot until its 110 F
Its more of shock being cold - I will revel in the heat .. I hate cold... repeat my Mantra I hate cold.
Chick stick or no Chicken stick an .81 hurts when It kicks back at 7am.....

BE sure to allow for the reduced resistance of the clothes against your arm movements while flying in the USA this Summer. LOL
Good luck and most of all enjoy the experience.
If you are at the NATS site during the CL Scale events look me up. I would like to meet you in person.

Only 39.5F degrees! Not that many years ago used to go fly when temps were in the teens F. Minus 8 to 10 C degrees. Really helps when you layer the clothes and stay busy. Now I am like another gentleman I know, when it is below 60F I stay in. LL~ LL~

Looks like here in November.

Just think, If I flew to Australia from California, somehwere out in a field, there would be a guy flying high end stunt ships just like me. How cool is that!

The illness of Stunt flying knows no boundaries.
Common symptoms are :
Perceived Madness
Cold and Wind obliviousness
Obsessive complusive Building and Buffing Disorder or OCBBD
RSI
If you suffer from any of these - Dont see a Doctor - Just practice harder.

PJ, another thing, don't forget the sun block and/or a large brimmed hat. My nose and ears usually peel about twice during NATS week. H^^
