Full kit ,authorized by Charles A. Mackey, available from RSM Distribution. Flies very well with an OS .25LA although Charles designed it for a Fox .35. If you decide to use the LA engine remember to put some weight in the nose (when I built mine I forgot about the difference in weight).

"Bluebird" is a new one on me.  A handsome design, even if the stab is too small.

Too bad it isn't a .60-size. If so  I would be tempted to build one.

 I built a Bluebird in the late 1990's   I ended up trimming 1/8" off the inboard flap to get the plane to not hinge badly in sharp corners. It had a lot of wing offset , to much for such a small plane. I used 2/3 to 1  flap to elevator and it worked will.  Today it would be great with a modern. 20-.25 motor.  I used a Fox .29 and it flew slow smooth pattern.  My tank was to small and It would not get through the pattern.  It is about the same size as a Ringmaster but fly's much better.

Looking at Bob's Nats picture--they must have been running a custom car and hot rod show at the same venue. Look at all them restomods in the background!

PS--That BlooBoid reminds me a bit of a Fancy Pants but with a better wing....

PPS--Here's a picture of Pete Cunha's Mackey Lark with the original open cockpit layout. I do think he updated the avionics a bit because he's got a few glass instruments replacing some of the steam gages....

It's certainly easy to see the lineage from this model to Charles' very popular Lark design. I always loved the looks of the Lark and was very honored to have my scratch-built version be the cover subject for Eric's RSM kit of that model. It was a great flying model, too!

Bob - great flying model is an understatement!
As I recall, you flew it at VSC in the late 90s and came in second.
I was judging and was amazed at how pretty the Lark looked in the air.
