I have a Jett band saw. You will be amazed at how often you use your band saw. Congrats.

Yea, mine's an old Delta (back when they made metal precision units). Use it constantly.

My old Sears 12" crapped out. Can't function in this hobby without one.

This is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful powered tools I have ever seen.

The Art Deco styling was what attracted me to it originally - when the guy said he didn't need it and I could have it, I fell in love with it.  ;D.
Full disclosure: the pic's not of mine, mine's not so pristine but needed only a blade, cleaning and adjusting.
MOF tho', they're not terribly uncommon in usable/repairable condition for under $100 if one searches old tool sites.

Dane, any of you fellow c/l'ers are more than welcome to use it anytime!
Or the table saw, grinders, drill press, sanders, airbrushes - whatever.
Just give me a few minutes warning, to put on the coffee.  ;D

Yo, Milton...what are the blade guides? Steel or plastic fantastic? I have a 9" Delta...plastic guides. Round, I think. I might be able to stick steel in there. Is tool steel appropriate? Hardened or soft?  H^^ Steve

I think that is the Rikon with Craftsman branding..side by side they look identical and are reported to be the same. That would be my choice if I needed another one. Currently have a small B&D for tiny parts and a 9" Delta.

Steel guides. Ball Bearings

My 9" Delta came new with square black ceramic guides...they look like plastic but work very well.  My old B&D has steel guides (one block with slot for blade) and they work ok but can heat up a blade quickly if pushed. Next bandsaw will be the Sears clone of the Rikon.
